Buffalo Turkey Burgers

Bursting with flavor, these Buffalo Turkey Burgers are loaded with sautéed veggies and seasonings then coated in buffalo sauce and topped with your favorite melted cheese.

Buffalo Turkey Burgers

Rewind way back to the days, before I started  my clean eating lifestyle,  when I swore that a turkey burger was nothing more than a bland and boring something on my plate.

Then cousin Tonya came to visit us and made these glorious little buffalo turkey burgers.  I was sold forever!!  It’s all about adding “the stuff” and some delicious cheese.

The “stuff” that makes these so great is garlic, carrots, celery and good ole poultry seasoning.  And then of course dredging them in buffalo sauce and topping it off with your favorite melted Cheese.  My fav’s for topping burgers are Monterey Jack or White Extra Sharp Cheddar. Buffalo Turkey Burgers recipe

Ingredients for Buffalo Turkey Burgers

2 TBSP of coconut oil or olive oil

2 cloves of garlic, minced

1 celery stalk, grated or sliced thin

5 baby carrots or 1 large carrot, grated or sliced thin

1/3 cup onion or shallots, chopped

1 – 1.25 lb of ground turkey (93- 99% fat)

1 tsp of poultry seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 cup of your favorite buffalo sauce

1 TBSP of coconut oil or butter

How to Make Buffalo Turkey Burgers

Heat oil in large skillet over medium high heat.

Cook garlic, carrots, onion and celery until translucent (about 15-20 minutes)

Remove from heat and cool for 5 minutes

Mix in poultry seasoning and the above cooked ingredients with turkey meat and mix well.

Form into 5 patties

Cook in pan over medium for about 6 minutes on each side.

Place cooked burgers on a plate and set aside.

Melt 2 TBSP of coconut oil or butter and add the 1/4 cup of hot sauce. Mix well.

Add cooked burgers back to the pan and turn until coated with sauce.

Place on a piece of romaine lettuce or a bun.

ENJOY!!

  • 1/3 cup onion or shallots (chopped)
